Last updated: January 19, 2026

The Short Version

Use PrivStack legally and don't abuse it. We provide software on your devices. We're not responsible for your content (we can't see it). Cancel anytime. 7-day free trial to evaluate before purchasing.

1. Agreement to Terms

By using PrivStack, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. We may update these terms; continued use means you accept changes.

2. Description of Service

PrivStack is a local-first productivity suite (notes, tasks, calendar) with end-to-end encryption and peer-to-peer sync. The software runs on your devices. Your data is stored locally and encrypted. We provide the software; we don't host your data.

3. Accounts

Registration

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.

Account Security

Your account password is used only for website authentication. License keys are generated server-side and are independent of your password. You can reset your password at any time without affecting your license key or subscription.

Termination

You can delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Licenses

Personal License

Personal licenses are for individual use. You may install on unlimited personal devices. You may not share your license with others.

Restrictions

You may not: reverse engineer the software (except where legally permitted), resell or redistribute the software, remove copyright notices, or use the software for illegal purposes.

5. Payments

Pricing

Current prices are listed on our website. We may change prices with 30 days notice. Price changes don't affect existing subscriptions until renewal.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Cancel anytime before renewal to avoid charges. Monthly and annual plans include a 7-day free trial (card required at signup).

Lifetime Licenses

Lifetime licenses provide permanent access as long as PrivStack exists. Includes all updates and new features.

Taxes

Prices may exclude applicable taxes. You're responsible for any taxes in your jurisdiction.

6. Your Content

Ownership

You own your content. We claim no rights to your notes, tasks, calendar events, or any other data you create.

Our Access

We cannot access your content. It's encrypted on your device with keys we don't have. We don't want access to your content.

Your Responsibilities

You're responsible for backing up your data. While we design for reliability, we can't guarantee against data loss on your devices.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use PrivStack for illegal purposes
  • Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise our systems
  • Abuse our support or relay infrastructure
  • Resell or redistribute your license
  • Use automated systems to abuse our services

8. Intellectual Property

PrivStack, our logo, and our brand are our trademarks. The software is protected by copyright. You receive a license to use the software, not ownership of it.

9. Third-Party Services

PrivStack may integrate with third-party services (cloud storage, calendars). Your use of those services is governed by their terms. We're not responsible for third-party services.

10. Disclaimers

PrivStack is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the software will be error-free or uninterrupted.

You're responsible for your data and backups. While we design for security and reliability, no software is perfect. Use at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PrivStack's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify PrivStack against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

13. Dispute Resolution

  • Entire Agreement: These terms constitute the entire agreement.
  • Severability: If any provision is invalid, the rest remain in effect.
